Golf Notebook: PARODY IN THE GMC

By KEITH SARGEANT
April 30, 2005

How balanced is the GMC this season? Consider:

  • No. 2 Old Bridge handed top-ranked East Brunswick its first loss of the season with a three-stroke decision at home on April 21. Five days later, the Knights fell to No. 4 South Plainfield by five strokes.
  • One day after beating Old Bridge, South Plainfield fell to Monroe in a battle for supremacy in the GMC White.
  • Monroe, meanwhile, has lost two matches this season, both against Old Bridge in nondivision matchups.
  • The bottom line is any of the top six in this week's Top 10 can win the GMC Tournament on May 26
